![]() ![]() We are excited for 2010!! This year looks promising as 2009 brought us bigger payouts and new venues. It also brought us many new faces and teams and with the economy the way it was, that’s very positive. We believe 2010 will continue to grow.
Before we get into what’s new, let’s reflect on 2009 a little. I would like to congratulate all the winners, you have represented yourselves and your teams very well. Thank You! Congratulations to our King Of The Lake Overall Champions “Striker” Capt.: Eric Marcinkowski for his dedication and victory. $146,000 in prize money was Paid over the five events and took in $135,000 in entry fees. That’s $11,000 more than we took in!! On to 2010 As you may know we have always looked at ways to improve the series. We have been proud of many of our changes and we look forward to some of the minor changes for the upcoming year. These are the changes for 2010. 1: Polygraph, We have altered this rule and decided to include tournament supplied observers on day 2 of each event to the top 10 teams from day 1. If at that point there is an action that is in question and the team representative doesn’t agree with the disqualification there may be an option to take a polygraph at a later date to clear this situation up. This is an explanation of how the rule is to be handled. Basically if you are in the top 10 after day 1 we will put an observer on your boat for day 2. 2: Overall scoring, We have taken a good hard look at making our overall competition stronger and bigger. We want to market this the best we can. In order to increase the field and to bring winnings up we decided to go with the following. Take your best 3 scores for the year. You can fish all five and you take your best 3. To give incentive to the teams that fish all 5 or even 4 we will be giving those teams and additional 10 points for the 4th and another 10 points for the 5th. That’s an additional 20 points for showing up! Enough of an incentive but not too much to compete against if you fish only 3 events. There were 20 teams that fished 2 and another 20 teams that fished 3 events. We think this will hopefully push some teams to enter the overall The payout will be 1: 50% , 2: 30%, 3: 20% (100%) payback. 3. Payouts, We are excited about this years payouts and have brought back (For Free) Saturday and Sunday big box of the day. Last year we found that if you didn’t have a good first day it was tough to win any money. This year you can win $2000 for one good day!! All payouts bases on 75 teams which has not been done on our end before. Previously payouts were based on 100 teams and when it didn’t reach 100 it dropped. We are going to use the same 105% again but this payout is more realistic to reach. We had 2 tournaments at roughly 75 teams last year. |
