SERIES OVERVIEW

2011 NEW RULE
NO COMMUNICATION

2011 - NO COMMUNICATIONS

I am excited about the fact that this rule is finally coming to our tournament series. The fact that competitors can test skill against skill and not how good their networking skills are. This is a huge step for us as we believe it is one we have had great consideration about for many years. After watching what has transpired in many open tournaments in the past few years we thought it was time for a change and bring back a level playing field.

We have heard things like " these guys are tough enough to compete against let alone even tougher when you give them an unlimited source of information from a network of other fisherman. These tournaments shifted away from testing my skills to rewarding my skills as a network builder" or " finally events that will test your angling skills and not your texting prowess"

The purest and most rewarding way to win is one that the captain and team did it by themselves without outside influence. This is what our tournaments are all about, good people testing skill on skill with no outside help.

Many people are asking how it will be policed and if anyone is caught what is the penalty? Well a lot of these rules in force are the same in this manor but we feel that with tournament supplied observers (knowledgeable observers not just pick someone of the street because their free on the weekend) on day 2 we have eliminated anyone in contention to doing so. On day one it will be like any other rule but enforced in a different manner. If you are deemed by the commitee that you have communicated in any way you will be disqualified and banned from any tournament associated with us forever. There are however a way for you to prove yourself right. If a team captain or teamate is caught doing wrong the whole team communicating and team communicated with will be disqualified. To be clear this is a serious offence!! and will NOT be tolerated. We will designate a specific channel on the VHF ex: 68 that everyone will be on in order to have any on-air info be heard by all. If you have 2 vhf radios one would be on 68 say and the other on 16.

As I mentioned earlier this is a huge step in tournaments and we are very excited to go forward this way. All competitors that I have spoken to about this are pumped up with the new format and cant wait to see how the best fishermen compete skill on skill, head to head for the ultimate prize of being King Of The Lake.
